Dear juniors,
Greetings from Sydney! I’m currently studying Education at the University of New South Wales, and I’d love to share a few words with you.

Looking back on my journey, I feel incredibly lucky to have had a wide range of experiences that shaped who I am today. I served as a language support volunteer during the Winter Olympics, where I was honored to contribute, even in a small way, to such a global event. I’ve traveled to over 80 cities and 7 countries during holidays in four years during university, earned my surfing and diving certifications, and spent a month teaching in a high-altitude village in Yunnan.

These experiences opened my mind and made me realize that the biggest space in the world is the space within — the mindset that embraces diversity, challenge, and growth.

University life is more than just lectures and assignments — it’s a time to grow, explore, and discover who you are. Make the most of your spare time by reading widely, improving your English, and staying curious. After completing your responsibilities, don’t forget to enjoy the world around you. Travel when you can, experience different cultures, and open your heart to new perspectives.

This diverse world has so much to offer — and every conversation, book, or journey can teach you something valuable. Most importantly, develop your own way of thinking. Listen, reflect, and ask questions. Critical thinking will empower you to see beyond the surface and truly understand the world.
Wishing you all the best on your journey!
Warm regards,
Haiqi Gao
